Experience Palliser Online Learning

At Palliser Beyond Borders, our goal is to provide a vibrant online learning experience whether you’re a Alberta student looking for additional credit courses not offered by your local school, learning from another province, or an international student taking our courses from another country. As a Palliser online student, you have access to online learning materials, as well as teacher-supported instruction to support your academic success.

What's Different about the Palliser Experience?

Unlike traditional homeschooling where parents direct and oversee their child’s progress, and brick and mortar classroom models where teachers prepare group lesson plans for students in their class, Palliser Beyond Borders offers learning plans that are teacher directed and meet all of the learning outcomes required for graduation in the province of Alberta. Students can access this learning from wherever they are 24/7 and personalize their learning experience with teacher support. Your child’s learning is provided in a secure online community where caring teaching professionals support respectful relationships and academic excellence.

Our Beliefs: At Palliser Beyond Borders we believe in learning success for all students as they develop their unique potential as caring citizens in a changing world. Our online initiative supports this mission by expanding learning choices, giving students the ability to personalise  and access their learning on a 24/7 basis.

Our vision for Palliser Beyond Borders is a centre of online learning and teaching excellence. It will provide outstanding opportunities for Alberta students and will grow to serve ever larger communities across Canada and internationally. Students will engage in online learning both asynchronously and synchronously with their peers and teachers and demonstrate a deep understanding of Alberta curriculum and global digital citizenship. Students, if they choose, can complete an Alberta diploma fully online.

When working toward meeting learning outcomes, logistics play an important role. Once again Alison’s background in technology based education shows her mastery of the technical skills needed to help students achieve their goals. While working on the leadership conference alongside Alison, it was no challenge to understand what my role was or how I was to undertake my next responsibility. With detailed emails, organized Google Hangout sessions, scheduled meetings, and clear deadlines for deliverables, each and every student was equipped with the resources to ensure they could accomplish the work the needed.
