  • What your international student tuition fee covers

Your international student tuition fee covers placement in an education program in a Palliser school taught by certificated teachers using the Alberta Education Program of Studies.

  • What your international student tuition fee does not cover

These are additional fees not covered in the fee schedule listed above:

    • Airport Transportation to homestay ($175)
    • Custodianship Declaration Notarization  ($50)
    • School fees, locker rental, textbook rental and material fees (varies, depending on the school and program)
    • Extra-Curricular fees for participation in school sports teams (varies, depending on the school and the sports activity chosen)
    • Transportation fee, (taking the school bus to and from school, if required, $1,000/year)
    • Other recreational activity fees, (skiing, field trips, marine biology trip, etc., varies depending on the school and the recreational activities)
    • Spending money for the student of $100 to $250 per month.

Many Palliser students live in a rural setting and take the school bus to and from school. Every attempt is made to place the student as close to the school as possible. Ideally, placement with a family who is already attending the school is considered.

  • Airport Transportation Fee

The nearest international airport is located in the City of Calgary (YYC) which is about a three-hour drive from Palliser’s farthest high school. The division fee for transfer from Calgary to the homestay is $175. There is no transfer fee for international students placed in Palliser’s Alternative Faith-Based Calgary programs.

  • Revalidation/Legalization of School Marks

Palliser Regional Schools offers a revalidation of marks service for students who require it. Mexico, Colombia and Brazil are a few of the countries that require revalidation in order for the student’s home education system to accept the Canadian course marks as valid. The fee for this service is $150. Requests for revalidation must be made to the Associate Superintendent (Education Services) Pat Rivard.

  • Methods of Payment

Clearly indicate the name of the person paying the tuition and the student. All payments should be made payable to Palliser Regional Schools. Acceptable forms of payment are:

    • Wire transfer
    • Certified cheque
    • Bank draft
