Work Experience

Work Experience (WE) 15-25-35 courses provide opportunities for students to:

  • Apply, in the workplace, knowledge, skills and attitudes acquired through other course work.
  • Discover their career interests and aptitudes in meaningful work activities, situated in community-based workstations and work sites in business, industry, government and community service.

PREREQUISITE - HCS3000 (Workplace Safety Systems)

  • WE 15-25-35, at each level, may be offered for 3-10 credits.
  • Each course is time based (25 hrs/credit)
  • A student may enroll in WE 35 without having completed WE 15 or 25. This meets the 30 level course requirement for Alberta High School Diploma.
  • Students may earn up to 30 credits in WE, but the number of WE credits that may be counted toward the Alberta High School Diploma is 15.
  • Program of Studies with learning outcomes and course requirements.
  • Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training - Updated Entrance Requirements

To participate in the Off Campus Education program, we require you to pre-register using your Palliser School Email (firstname.lastname@prs26.ca) so that we can book an intake meeting with the Off Campus Coordinator to:

  • further discuss how we can assist you in making wise decisions regarding your future education, training and employment upon leaving senior high school and
  • allow for the smooth transition from school to work and/or post-secondary studies.

We will contact you to set up a meeting time.

The Director's award recipient: in conjunction with the high school, we have a very successful drama program where students can gain experience and high school credit in drama and technical theatre. This award recognizes a student who who best fulfills the following characteristics: has a high academic standing in drama; demonstrates a passion for drama which is expressed through an excellent attitude to drama practice and performance; shows enthusiasm for drama which positively impacts other students in their class and the wider school community; shows positive leadership during drama work; has good or excellent learning skills in all areas.
