Teacher meets in small groups or books individual student meetings to support learning

Students work independently at home offline based on morning instruction. Be prepared to bring it online the next day.

Instruction uses a Me-We-they approach:

  • Me: teacher models for the student online
  • We: students do it together with the teacher online or offline with parent support
  • They: students take their learning offline and will share back with the teacher for feedback.

Parents as Learning Partners

We will use a gradual release of responsibility model to build student skill capacity over time and through grades. Expect your child will move through these behaviours in a progression. They may begin at the top and progress through these behaviours as the year progresses. Progression is encouraged as the student demonstrates independence and understanding of the behaviours required.

Student skills will transition from “learning to use technology” to “using technology for learning” and developing competence with technology

Parent orientations will be offered to ensure parents understand the program, approach, content.

From taking the CALM 20 course online through Palliser Beyond Borders. I have learned an indescribable amount of content! Through taking this course by this method I have had the opportunity of gaining a greater perspective. I have come to understand that everyone learns differently. This is why to many students this course is perfect.
