Hands-on financial ed for Coalhurst High students

LETHBRIDGE - Alex Evetts was looking for something different when he signed up for the High School Finance Competition. While it was an eye-opening experience, the Coalhurst High School student found he wasn't as far removed from the classroom as he might have thought.

Horizon, KAHS principals announced

Shabana Rahman to lead new Calgary school Palliser Regional Schools has a new principal for its new school opening this fall, as well as a new principal to lead the division's largest high school. Shabana Rahman will serve as the principal of Horizon Elementary School, slated to open in southwest Calgary in August.

Jennie Emery STEAM room encourages student exploration

COALDALE - A labour of love for an elementary school librarian has given students access to a unique space for exploring science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. Sue Wells, the librarian at Jennie Emery Elementary School, was inspired to create a STEAM room when space became available in the learning commons.

John Davidson raising funds for playground

UPDATE: The call for donations and the initial sale was so successful, the garage sale will continue from 1 to 4 p.m., Friday, June 2, and 8:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday, June 3.*

COALDALE -- Staff and parents at John Davidson School in Coaldale are rolling up their sleeves this weekend with the hopes that students can enjoy the fruits of their labour in the near future.
