Friday, September 30th - Truth and Reconciliation Day

Oki / Tansi / Good afternoon,

We would like to begin by sharing our land acknowledgement statement:

Palliser Regional Schools would like to acknowledge the traditional territories and oral practices of Blackfoot Nations, which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, and the Kainai. We also acknowledge the Tsuut’ina and Stoney Nakoda First Nations, the Metis Nation, and all people who make their homes in the region we serve.

The theme for Truth and Reconciliation Week 2022 is ‘Remembering the Children.’

Truth and Reconciliation Week can be very difficult for survivors, students, educators, and families.  Truth is a necessary part of healing.

There is a National Residential Schools Crisis Line for emotional and referral support for Survivors and their families (toll-free): 1-866-925-4419

There will be no school for students on Friday, September 30th honouring National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
